What do Catenians do?
The Catenians provide a social network for Catholic lay men. We enjoy friendship through shared faith and offer practical and spiritual support to members. The Association was founded in 1908 and so we celebrated our centenary a year before Our Lady's. There are several parishoners who are members and we belong to the Watford Circle which is one of a large number of circles throughout the UK and abroad. We were very pleased to celebrate our 80th birthday last year.
Our monthly meeting is on the first Thursday of the month followed by a convivial dinner. We also hold an annual clergy night where Father Jim can enjoy a free meal!
Wives and families are fully involved. We invite the ladies to join us for dinner once a quarter and we provide a varied social programme and family outings, for example meals out, barbeques, bowling, rambles, trips out and most importantly the Circle's annual President's Mass and lunch.
